I had a massage after work, and because I'm still not feeling great I thought I would take it a bit easier today. I'm thinking of taking it easier this entire week since I will be running in the WBR Friday and Saturday. It's not alot of miles, I think my legs total about 16-17, but it's the not sleeping well and stuff that I know will get to me. Lately even with good sleep I have not been doing so good. Anyway just did an easy 5 at the gym. 9:30 average.

Good luck at Wasatch Back Relays. They sound really fun. I wish we had as many distance events here on the east coast as you guys have out there.

I'll be volunteering at Exchange 3 between noon and 5:30pm. I'll be wearing a Pink shirt (yes, that's right, pink). Look for me and say HI!

Ben, I think there are a few Ragnar Relay's on the east area.

Jun, I'm runner 9 so I don't think I will be at that exchange. I think that will be the first van. Bummer it would have been nice to see you.

Yes, rest up, take it easy, baby yourself, for this weekend you will surely run a HILL (or 7).

I've never done WBR before. I'm a little worried about the no sleep, running in the dark of the night and car sick. O man, that doesn't sound fun at all. I'm taking your lead, rest this week and store up the sleep???

From RAD on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 17:50:24 from 67.166.99.8

I'm trying to taper for WBR as well, but everyone else says their not tapering so I then felt sheepish even asking! I just know my legs aren't going to do well if I don't give them a break.

Nice job getting a massage and doing 5 on the TM - I dread that machine!!! We really need to exchange cell #'s so we can do the death march together :) When does your team start? Mine is 10:15.

From Kelli on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 18:00:27 from 71.219.76.64

Rachel, I think it is just that many of us are on a team that runs for fun and so there is no pressure. If we conk out and have to walk here and there---NO ONE will care. I do not have to taper because no one will care how hard or fast I run. It is not a big deal. Other teams are very serious!!!

From Carolyn in Colorado on Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 22:30:52 from 71.229.164.25

I say stock up on the sleep if you can. Don't worry about the running.
