I had over heard a few of the bikers at my work comment that they had extended the parkway path that is close to our work. So I decided to run it and see the new parts. I can run from the parking lot at my work, down a dirt/gravel/sand road and on an unused portion of railroad track. Once I past all that there is a paved path by the river. As soon as they get it over/under or around the said railroad tracks it will all connect to the other path that I run. All told when it's finished it should be over 20 miles of paved path. So nice not to have to deal with cars and streets. It was a pretty nice run. At one point along the path there are businesses close to it, one car dealer had a table with water on it for people on the path... good marketing I guess. I had some on my way back. There is one thing I find rather odd on the pathway. When they were doing some of the construction there was a huge tree that was right by the edge, so the cut it down but the stump was too big to pull out. So they had someone make a sculpture out of it. Now I think this is really neat, but I can't understand why they sculpted dolphins... the dolphins are standing on their tails, at first I thought they were penguins but as I pass I could see the dorsal fins. I just think it should have been some other animal or something. I mean you wouldn't see a dolphin swimming in the river. It just didn't make any sense to me.
Where they have added the new miles, goes through a ultimate freeze bee course. I think that is what it's call. I have ran down around there before and never see anyone. Tonight there had to be about 30 people all over the course. From what I could tell the course crossed the path a few times. I was worried I was going to get a disc the the back or side of my head LOL.
Sorry for the ramble.... pretty good run, but I felt more tired then I did yesterday 9:00 miles - 1:20:48 laps: 9:08, 8:45, 8:47, 8:51, 9:04, 8:36, 8:50, 8:43, 10:04
