Felt about the same as yesterday, not great, but not terrible. Hip and pelvis, lower back seem to be aching alot more. Ran the upper part of the parkway, out onto the road for a bit to get a bit longer of a run. There were tons of people out on the parkway. Saw all my regulars... first the guy in the wheel chair, I helped him up a hill once so now he always waves or smiles at me as we pass. Then there is the middle age lady that walks with her parents and dog, they always smile and wave at me.  New was a bride getting her pictures taken at the flower garden at the MTC park, and some guy wearing a rubber shirt. Don't know if this is a new fashion statement.

Nice run. Are you tapering soon for Ogden. I'll be running the Ogden half and am planning a short taper for that.

From Smooth on Thu, Apr 30, 2009 at 23:13:25 from 71.36.87.147

Lori, nice run. Hope the aches go away soon. You're such a nice lady, everyone will want to wave and smile at you. Do you have a time goal for Ogden?

From Metcalf Running on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 09:48:47 from 207.225.192.66

JD, I'll probably do a bit of a taper for Ogden, I'll only do 16-17 this weekend. Have your run the half before? It's a great half.

Smooth, I hope they go away soon also, don't really know what the deal is. Last year I ran Ogden in 4:02. The way I have been running this year I'd be happy if I got the same time. If the plant and stars aline and I get under 4, I would be over the moon!!!

How cool is it that you have all these "regulars" to wave at you!

Should we try to organize some kind of blog get-together for people who are running Ogden? I'm not much of a party/event planner, so I don't know how to go about it.

From Metcalf Running on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 15:33:20 from 207.225.192.66

It's funny, I will prbably never even talk to them in person, but I see them almost every day when I run that trail, so we always acknowledge each other.

I think we should plan a get together. We could have a BBQ at my house. I think I will talk to Marion, she seems to be the event/planner person. Also she has a large following here on the blog so more people will see it on her blog.

From Smooth on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 15:38:59 from 71.36.87.147

I don't think Marion is running Ogden, is she?

I'm shooting for about the same time too. Say hi when you pass me. You will do great at Ogden. I'm running 16 tomorrow and taper down as well. All the training is done, we just need to concentrate on good nutrition and hydration.

From Smooth on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 15:43:28 from 71.36.87.147

Oops, I just notice Marion is running the half. Wow, we'll have quite a showing at Ogden in two weeks. I'm SO SO SO excited. Friends are the reasons I sign up for so many races. CRAZY!

From JD on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:03:20 from 64.65.159.206

Metcalf - I've never run the Ogden course before. From what I can gather, it seems to have a lot of downhill. I'll just be doing a mini-taper. Hope to meet some bloggers there!

From Metcalf Running on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 16:56:57 from 207.225.192.66

Smooth, I think there are quite a few that are running the full and the half... I'm with you it's exciting! I hope I can do good, and we can all get together before, it would be fun!

JD.. If I remember you are doing the half right? It's beautiful, just on pretty big hill at about 1/2 a mile into the half, then around the side of the dam is rolly.. Big downhill after the causeway. Down the canyon, so beautiful, onto the parkway...past timermine, yummy food, then the dinosaur park, Big D park, under harrison blvd., then MTC park, so pretty with all the flowers, under monroe blvd., you can see some funny paintings, out onto the street for a second then back onto the parkway, past the swimming pool where Sqints got mouth to mouth with Wendy Peppercorn, (Sandlot movie), then the skate park, rodio grounds, with all the paintings on the back of the stadium, though a pretty area where one backyard is very well kept. then under Washinton, out on to grant... and you can see then finish!!! YAhooo!!

From JD on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 18:04:01 from 64.65.159.206

Um...something tells me you've been on this course before...

Thanks for the detailed info. It's nice to get that kind "insider" view of the course before running it.

This is going to be a blast!

You are having a very busy week :) What's with the hips???? Run slower!! YIKES!!! :0

What are the party plans???

From Metcalf Running on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 21:03:39 from 71.219.126.117

JD - I run portions of the parkway almost every night. And have run the other parts on the marathon, and 1/2 a few times.

Marion, nothing too major, just thought it might be fun to have the blogger that are running in Ogden to get together. We can meet at my house, or a resturant or a park. Don't know if there has to be food, but I usually like that. It would just be nice to hang out for a bit, and talk. Since I won't see most of the speedy people. I don't know... what do you think?

From marion on Fri, May 01, 2009 at 21:11:27 from 71.213.127.206

i love it! It sounds GREAT to me :) A house is nice, but we'd all want to eat so restaurant might be good too. What is your #1 choice?
