Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Ran before work this morning.  I was glad to get 8 miles in early.

It was a quick trip to the gym today after work. I knew I wanted to do Intervals and didn't want to feel rushed before work.  It was pretty interesting because I haven't done any intervals for almost 6 weeks.  It felt good to do a different type of run and overall was happy with the run. 

Ran 5x800 w/400 recovery.Wwarmup. 7:35 (159)  - 7:30 (165) - 7:30 (170) - 7:13 (173) - 7:13 (175).  Finished out the run to make up 7 miles.  Picked up the pace in the last mile since I had an appointment to be at by 4:30pm.

I went to work at 6am this morning because I had an interview for another account and I didn't want to go in after running and being rushed to get ready for work. I ran down by the river around 3 this afternoon.  Boy, was it hot!  I tried to not push it because I could tell I was tired.  Who runs when it's 90 degree's outside????  I wasn't sure if I was tired because of the heat or because of yesterdays run.  I just know today I want to go to bed earlier today.  Stayed up to late last night.

Didn't run early in the morning because I knew I wanted to do a Tempo run.  Haven't done one of those in a LONG time. Actually walked for 30 min's over lunch.  After work I sure didn't feel like running!  Thanks honey for not letting me off the hook and making me feel guilty.  : )   Went to the gym and ran the Tempo run.  Started with a 10 minute warm up in Zone 1.  Then ran 50 min's in Zone 2 - upper end.  Got tiring towards the end.  Wanted to quit between 30 & 40 min's.  Somehow I made it to the 50's.  Finished with 15 min's slowing it down to finish with a cool down.  Ended up running just over 9 miles.  Did a couple of arm weights and situps before leaving the gym.
