Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Got up and ran early this morning before work.  I do like being able to go into work later if I want.  Normal run.

Went up to Island Park with alot of family today.  I was glad to get out and go for a run.  I always like running in the higher elevation.  Ran up to Buttermilk Campground.  Not may people up there yet.  A little strange being up there durning the week.  It was great hanging out with everyone.  Bad part was Marlin wasn't able to go due to work and getting ready to go out of town.

I actually didn't run today. I walked with my sister up in Island Park.  She's been visiting from Northern Calif.  We don't get times like that very often.  The good part about the workout was the long hill that we usually run up.  She had injured her leg and hip when she ran her first half marathon a few months ago.  Fun times.

Early morning run this morning.  Did not like the wind but figured it would be worse in the afternoon. I was glad to get it done.

Last night went to Teton Running Store and listened to Jeff S.  It's always great to listen to any advice he gives.  I'm starting to love the running community here.  What an amazing thing to be a part of.

I actually went for a walk over lunch today for about 1.25 miles.  After work I went down to the river and ran 7.5 miles. Just alittle tired. It could have been due to the weather or just because it's Friday.  After working out Marlin and I went to Stockmans for dinner.  Very glad it's the weekend.

What a day.  I knew I wanted to get a long run in and thought 15 would be the max. I would have been happy with that.  But, I ran into Marlin around mile 12 and we ended up running a couple more laps around the river.   I was happy to get a few extra miles in!  I don't remember the last time I've this long of a run.  I need to do it more often.  I was that I had started out early.  If I'm up early tomorrow morning I think I'll head to the river again and do a run.  Normally Sunday is a day off.   Marlin did great - 20 miles.  I was so happy to keep up with him.  After our run we went to the Farmers Market by the river.  I hadn't been yet this year so I wanted to check it out.   It was great seeing all the runners running the Scenic River run today.  Kinda weird not running with them and I felt alittle bad.  But, I knew I wanted today to be my long run. 

Marlin is leaving tomorrow morning for Lake Tahoe so I took him to get the car rented and then went and ran my Sat errands.  It's going to be pretty strange having him gone!
