Short-Term Running Goals:

It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011.  When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. 

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free.  Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running.

Personal:

Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us.  It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up.  I love seeming them happy and succeeding.

Over the weekend I actually found a training schedule that I am going to follow the best I can.  I wonder how it'll go on the days I feel like running further than it says or days where I feel like running less. I'm also planning on cross training and will be adding that to running. I really am hoping not to have to cut back on miles run each week.  Today I did the 6 miles like the schedule said.  Not a bad run.  Felt pretty good since I had the weekend off.  Stayed at an 8:30 mm.

Ok, did 8 miles today.  Tough day.  Still pretty cold to run outside so went to the gym and ran on the tm.  Couldn't get in a grove until mile 6.  I didn't feel to great and not alot of energy.  It was just one of those days and I hope tomorrows better!

Another day.  Much better than yesterday.   Went to gym.  6 miles 53.37.  Thinking about finding some hills or the stairs.  Plan on running outside over the weekend. Don't know why having such a hard time this winter getting out. Used to run around the river before they even had a greenbelt.

Trying to stick with the schedule I have for training.  Today said a rest day but I thought I'd switch and try and take tomorrow off.  Schedule said 4 miles. It drives me nuts to just do 4, so after the 4 at 8:34 pace I walked a fast pace on the tm at an incline of 4.0/4.5.  After 1/2 miles I decided to run another 1/2 with the incline at 4.0 to see how it felt.  Then did the ellipicial for 20 min & then bike (set for hills) for 30 min.  Felt much better and felt like I had a good workout.  Tomorrow should offically be Rest day and will try and avoid the gym.  But, we'll see what happens.   Might venture outside for a  short run after work.

I didn't run today.   Should have been my day off so I went to the gym and did the elliptical for 30 min & bike for 30 min.  Felt good to do alittle something.  No one was home in the evening. Actually did Yoga.  It was great. Hope to have a good run over the weekend.

Decided to go to the gym this afternoon after going to a movie. Did 5 miles- pretty easy run. Did yoga again afterwords. Am liking the varity and stretching.  I was so excited  - daughter's ran her first full mile!

Very nice run outside today.  Did the 5 mile loop. Chilly at first, but ended up taking top layer off after awhile.  Each time I ran a hill I turned around and ran it again. And if Isaw a hill somewhere I went and ran up. So, not sure how much Idid extra past the 5 miles.

Tomorrow I might just do the yoga & then the power cut class at the gym.

Long run today.  When I started the run didn't really have a plan on how far to go.  But, knew I needed to get a long run in.  Tried to add alittle incline into the run also. Overall, it was a good run.  Didn't like the 2 bathroom breaks.  Tomorrow hope to do 6-7 miles.

Did speedwork today. 5 miles. Half miles at 8 min mile w/slow jog. Haven't done a ton of speed work so didn't want to push it to much.  Felt great when I was done.

I went further than I set out to do.  Instead of the 5 mile loop I usually do I decided to go ahead and do another route.  Got in 8 3/4 miles.  If  I knew I was that close to 9 I would  have run to finish it off.  Started to get chilly the last couple of  miles.   Was glad to get outside.

I really enjoyed my run this morning. Alittle over 5 miles.   Thought it'd be colder that it was when it said it was 3 degrees outside with 7 mph N. wind.  Thought I'd be more tired from yesterdays run.   Very glad I went out. Slow but steady....

Taking some great advice. Ran 6 miles easy run.  Felt great when I was done.  It was tempting to increase my speed or go further. But wanted  to really do a steady pace and see how it goes.

Was able to run 6 miles today. Pushed it alittle harder than yesteray.  Pretty good run overall. Just trying to get 6 miles in each day this week. Been trying to take my husband's & Jeff's advice. Thanks for all the advice Jeff.  Last two days have been much better runs.

Alittle tired today doing 6 miles.  But, overall not to bad. Wish the weather would warm up to get outside more. Thinking about changing my schedule to get a morning run in.

Really enjoyed my run today. 6 miles. Had been up late the night before so dreaded working out during the day.  But, once I got to the gym was glad to be there. Not to crowded since it was a Friday.  Trying to not strike on my hill of the foot.  Slowly getting the hang of it.  By the end of the run I was almost at a 8 min mile.

Changing my work schedule to hopefully get two runs in a day starting next week.

Ended up working today. Taking the day off running and plan on a nice run tomorrow.    Hope the weathers good!

Just signed up for my first marathon! Now I need to convince myself I can do it.  Just gotta keep working on putting in the miles. Slow, easy, whatever it takes.

Great day today. Ran 16 miles.  Furthest to date!  Overall, it went pretty well. Felt pretty good. Ran around the local Greenbelt.  Started to get tired the last couple of miles.   Amazing how much easier it is when you don't think of how far you've gone or how much further you've got to go.  Forgot my watch so don't know exact time, but I was happy with what I did.  Took alittle longer than my husband.  One of these day's I'm going to catch up and pass him!  

I actually went into work after running. Finishing up some end of month things.  I've never worked on a Sunday.  Thought I'd only be there a couple of hours.  But, ended up being there almost 8 hrs! Bad part was I didn't eat as well as I should have after a run like today. 

Changed my work schedule to try and get two runs in each day. But, tomorrow I think I'll just do one run.  I'm alittle tired.
