Local 10k's 2009 & 2010 Short-Term Running Goals: It's been a challenging year so far since Boston 2011. When I got home from Boston my world changed when I found out I had some pretty severe food allergies. Since being tested I have been focused on building my health back up which has been a long slow process. What a difference it's made and I feel extremely blessed. For years I knew something was wrong and it's amazing to finally know that food can actually be a persons medicine to live a healthy life. Long-Term Running Goals: "You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement." - Steve Prefontaine
I'm hoping to start building more miles when I can and be injury free. Maybe one of these days I'll be fast. Just for now I'm just very happy to be running. Personal: Happily married to Marlin Ordway. We've got 4 grown children between the two of us. It's been fun watching them go through life - making mistakes and picking themselves back up. I love seeming them happy and succeeding. |

| | Not a ton of miles today. But, tried to do some fartlek trainig. Felt like a good workout. I'm new to this, but, it was good. My husband and I are working with a local race coordinator and he's giving us a great training schedule. Can't wait to meet up with him again Tue. Hope the weathers alittle better tomorrow to run outside. |

| | Picked up the pace today doing about 2 1/2 miles. Was alittle cold due the wind. Just ran out from the house. Nice country roads and pretty quite. Good run. Lots of family around today. Hope everyone had a great Easter. |

Ran at an easy pace today. Wanted a little longer run today. Looking forward to meeting up with the local race director tomorrow afternoon. So far he has us running longer runs 3 days/wk. Other days are for fartlek runs and intervals. I know he knows a lot more than I do so I'm trusting him that I'm getting enough miles in. But, I'm going to ask him tomorrow just to make sure. Not used to it.

3x4min With warm up & cool down did 3 miles. Son's visiting from San Diego so kept it short today. |

| | Longer run today around Freeman Park. I like that it's less populated and protected somewhat from the wind. It's got a nice loop with alittle variety. Not all flat running. |

| | Did a tempo run today. Ran 2 1/2 miles. Trying to focus on doing tempo and other types of runs. Worry about not getting as many miles some times, but I'm trusting what our coach has lined out. He came out the other day to the house. He is so good to Marlin and I. It's great to be able to call him whenever I have a question about training. Walked another 30 min or so just to get something else in. |

Walked over lunch just to get outside. Tired of sitting all day at work. I don't know how some of my co-workers do no physical activity. Drives me nuts. I always find it interesting talking to people over and over again about doing something. There's always a reason why they haven't done anything or can't. Glad I'm not like that!
After work headed to the park for a run. Not a bad run. Didn't over do it. Nice to be outside! Walked for another 20-30 minutes after running.

Pretty good run today. Had lots of errands to do before I could get out there and run. Had to finish up the taxes and help my daughter get a school paper printed before her night class. Taxes were easy. Dealing with my stressed daughter was the hard one. But, she made it on time.
Ran Freeman Park again. Managed to get alittle over 4.5 miles in. Felt pretty good and managed to keep a pretty even pace. Liking the warmer weather! |
