Monday Morning...A Screenplay by Luz

Brain:  Oh, look it's a beautiful day.

Body: Go back to bed.

Brain: Come on, you love going outside.

Body: My hamstrings hurt.  I'm tired.

Brain:  But running is fun!

Body:  You can say that because you're not doing the running.

Brain:  Wasn't Saturday great? Admit it, it was great.

Body:  You never appreciate anything I do for you.

Brain:  That is not true.  But if it wasn't for me, you wouldn't go anywhere.

ME:  Shut up the both of you or we're going back to teaching Yoga.

Body: Oh, I love Yoga.

Brain:  I hate Yoga.

Me:  Then SHUT UP both of you and by the end of this run you'd better be nice to each other.

2.5 miles later....

Body:  Are we there yet?

Brain:  This is fun!

Are you missing Amanda on top of sore race legs? I had a really hard time getting myself out of bed after her van stopped appearing at my house every day..of course I was pregnant and sick so that added to my inertia.

Good job on your race!!!

SO TRUE! My body and brain have the identical conversation every morning...

I am missing Amanda and was just thinking of her this morning. She's doing Ragnar this week and I have no idea how she and Derek can have the energy to do it after all the moving and displacement, etc. But the flip side is, I can run as slow as I want! I don't mind going it alone, especially on days when I have this ongoing internal agrument going on. I just look at the trees and feel the moisture in the air and shuffle along. Then I don't have to feel guilty about holding anyone back. I'll see how she's doing today.

Hahahaha this is soooo funny!

I'm in the same boat about when to increase mileage or taper, etc... I look forward to reading what Sascha and others have to say about it!

I can't wait until I can train with you..we'll be perfect for eachother...(once I'm in somewhat a normal shape) you'll never feel guilty about holding me back...I love shuffling. Actually Sasha goes at a leisurely pace (for him) also...he knows guys that train at a faster pace but he beats them in races. Something to think on. Have a good one.
