40 minute sculpting class again. I really like the girl who teaches it.

However, I'm frustrated. Seems like my knees are getting worse and now both ankles hurt too.  I've been taking it easy only doing elliptical and classes... It's frustrating when your mind wants to do something and your body won't cooperate.  I am getting up so early and going to the gym, I feel like I should atleast be able to run and get a good sweat in. And I still want to do the thanksgiving point half. this is the wierdest things. I guess my legs just loved not working out for the last year and now they're just trying to murder everyone.

Runner's Knee - soreness in the front of the joint due to mistracking kneecap.

Prevent it: strengthen your quads. Do wall squats.

Treat it: ice knees after exercise, reduce running, avoid running downhill.

IT Band Syndrome - Sharp pain outside of the knee caused by inflammation of the IT band, a piece of fascia that connects the hip to the front of the tibia.

Prevent it: Keep muscles that surround ID band flexible. Get a foam roller and roll up and down.

Treat it: ice the area and cross train a few days.

Also make sure you are stretching. Maybe to help w/ the ankles you could sit in a chair lift your legs out a bit and spell the alphabet w/ both feet. Also to prevent shin splits you are supposed to build miles slowly. replace shoes regularly and stretch your calves. Tight calves make the front of the leg work harder to flex the foot w/ each step. To strengthen shins sit on a chair, fill a sock with coins, put it on top of one foot and flex and lower that foot 20 times and change feet. ha ha change feet get it? coins change.

and ice ice baby.

I am so glad your back. How's your babe? How's motherhood?

I really like the girl who teaches it, too.

No, Britta. Don't tell my wife I wrote that.
