20 miles out and back from home. 3:04:42 9:14 ave pace. This is embarrassingly slow. I had the wind at my back on the way out and in my face on the return. I ran 9's going out and 9:30's back. I hope this run does me some good because I sure didn't enjoy it. I had no drive to run fast and the headwind didn't help. Everything hurt. Now that I'm back and settled in with an excellent cup of french pressed coffee I feel like I didn't even run. I'ts probably because I ran so slowly it didn't take anything out of me. I tried a new form a nourishment, Belvita something breakfast/cookie/biscuit thing. It worked well. This is the first time (this training year) that I took any kind of nourishment, I almost always don't. My go to nourishment in a marathon is Fig Newtons. I'm contemplating switching. Fig Newtons have served me well so I don't even know why I'm even thinking about it. My coffee cup is now empty and I need to get up for more and I'm not coming back so this is it.
