Long run through NYC. Today was the last Saturday of Summer Streets, where they close down Park Ave. for 7 miles from E. 72nd Street all the way down to the Brooklyn Bridge. Since it is NYC, there were big sponsors at every rest station--a huge inflatable slide and beach scene (with sand) at Folely Square, a 100 m dash by Nike with 12 foot tall photos of Olympic track stars (and Serena), a zip line, etc.--but no bathrooms.

It was a great run, and I regret not taking advantage of Summer Streets on prior weekends! I ran with easy/moderate effort and then a faster finish. My GPS was whacked because of running among the skysrapers along Park. But I think it was probably about 11 miles in 90 minutes. This is the longest run I have done this year. I felt really good!

Sounds like an awesome run! Great job getting this one in.

Sounds like you are doing well adapting to NYC lifestyle.
