When I left the house it was cold and it looked like it was partly cloudy. After about half a mile, the wind started to pick up and it started snowing lightly. By the time I'd turned the corner at the white church and headed north on 40th, I was running into a headwind and the snow was coming down hard enough that I had to take my glasses off to see at all. I pushed the pace a little from the start just because it was cold and I seemed to be breathing a bit harder that usual going up the hill on 40th. My overall pace was slightly faster than last week and my average heart rate was lower (both good signs), but it seemed like more of a struggle, perhaps due more to the weather.

Was planning on doing track work today, but opted for an easy run based on how I was feeling. It took about three miles for the lingering stiffness and soreness to work itself out. I pushed the pace a bit the last two miles. The weather was gorgeous.

Beautiful morning for a run. Started off at an easy pace and pushed it a bit up the hills. Averaged an 8:51 pace which felt very comfortable. I didn't feel any lingering soreness or pain during the run. Pushed it a bit the last two miles, but felt like I could have pushed it even more. Ran 6:00 to 6:30 pace down the hills. Ran 3.9 miles at lactate threshold pace or above.
