Small grand prix event for a track club in Baltimore. I decided to do this as a workout, and at $6 it was well worth it. I got a $15 gift card to panera bread, and ate an awesome cinnamon sugar bagel. Words can't describe.... it was almost like a donut. I plan on buying some of those with my gift card. Yummmm. Semi-hilly, two-lap course. Miles 1 and 3 were uphill, 2 and 4 were downhill. 6:31 6:25 6:45 (second uphill portion... ouch!) 6:25 I am pretty happy with this, considering I basically did a two-week taper. The McMillan race calculator puts me at a 19:56 5k, which isn't too bad but not nearly where I wanted to be. I tried my best to stay in shape while gone, and the first three weeks I did a great job, including speed workouts and distance runs. The last two weeks consited of major jet lag, sickness, and other events which caused me to miss a lot of runs. But I get back to Tallahassee next week and I'll get right back into the swing of things. Hopefully it doesn't take me too long to get back to where I was. Nothing a few interval sessions and tempo runs can't cure!
