Today was the Longwood "Turkey Trample" and some colleagues and I put together a team. It was a relay, where you passed a (cooked) giant turkey leg. Each person ran 400 meters, then did it again, so we each ran half a mile. It was done on campus, so the first quarter was slightly downhill and the second was slightly uphill. Unable to restrain my competitiveness I almost took a dive doing the downhill quarter, but was able to hold on. When I finished my second quarter my butt and quads were killing me and I couldn't even see straight. But it was worth it because we won first place coed team! My abs, legs, and butt are still sore 3 days later and I only ran half a mile! |
