Ran around the 200m indoor track rather than the 100 degree weather.  In the summer the gym closes really early so I was rushed. After 1.5 mi I did one mile hard in 6:04, then 1.5 mi cool down.  I'm happy with that, although this time next week I'd like to be able to do 2 near that speed.

Eat some ice cream, it will help!

How are things, BTW? Is the new job great?

Is there anything that ice cream DOESN'T help? (You obviously don't have to answer that).

The job is good, thanks for asking! I love working with undergrads even more than I ever thought I would. I was shocked at how crazy my first year was though. Even worse than my PhD. Hence the lack of running (well that and the eventual knee issue). I learned a lot about the importance of a balance- find a way to do a lot of fun things in class without taking up more of my time. I am sure it will come with time though!

I always wanted to be a "professor" for real!!! First I wanted to teach HS and then move on....but somehow I got stuck in elementary school (and loved it!)

Glad to hear all is well with you. Running wise I am sure you will bounce back quickly!
