| Today I ran with the varsity boys. We went from Michaels house to the summit (3 miles there) then started our tempo back. I felt good for the first mile and a half but the other half I had to push it to keep up with devin. We then ran two extra on that (we went back to michaels for colton) and that felt really good it was too fast a pace. |

| Probably my worst race...didn't really have good form at all and I basically gave up mentally. The finish was good but not good enough to make up for the rest of the race. I am going to really focus on running my hardest this next week to rebound and finally get where I need to be on the team. My focus for this upcoming week is on my form, mostly posture. |

| Another terrible region race...can't catch a break...did great until the LAST lap and I got this pain in my diaphram that was so bad I could barely run...excrutiating pain. Not my best race but as Rocky says in his movie,"it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody." I'm gonna work my butt off this week and at state I'll kill myself for it to be my best race ever. |

| We ran to the middle school to do some roller coaster workout stuff. It was pretty good, I ran pretty good. Then we did a couple 200 m and other speed stuff. I worked on driving my needs instead of kicking so much. It didn't feel smooth but I did go faster so now I need to do that more and just incorporate the smoothness into it. |

We ran to the elementary/middle school and ran on the grass there. It was going good until I started to get a little bit of bowel disturbance, but not too bad. I think it was because I forgot a lunch. I worked driving my knee's more and, as coach holt said, "stepping over the bar" it felt pretty good it was a lot easier to accelerate and actually less tiring.

It was a good run. My muscle below my calf was really tight so I tried to loosen that afterwards. I worked on keeping my hips forward and driving my knees. It was a perfect temperature for a run, and the altitude in flagstaff didn't really affect me. |

| Today I ran 5 with a 2 mile tempo. I ran with Hunter after our family played some flag football. We started out at a decent pace up the hill around his house. We hit our tempo after 2.5 miles in. I felt really good and relaxed. I was by myself for most of the tempo because hunter was getting sick and I still felt really strong. I think I have finally figured out how to run fast for me...shut off my brain, relax, and run smooth. I am really excited for the race to come in California, because I have felt really strong (esp. on hills) and the footlocker course is very tough! |

| I started out right where I needed to be in like 23rd and right behind Michael. Then as I started to approach the first hill (the switchbacks) I got thinking negative and axiety grew so much my stomach began to feel sick. I was pretty slow going up the hills all around. I was pretty good at the down hills. Michael and I were going to work together to win, but instead I died off and he won...It was really disappointing because I know I could have been with Michael. I am going to try to do some things to keep me relaxed and positive, like how Corey use to say jokes to himself in the middle of a race. I think if I get passed these mental barriers me and michael could do some damage next year, but I have to get passed them first during track. |

Ran a mile to hunter's house to pick hunter up for a run, then went 3 miles more afterwards ending up at my house. I felt really good today (cold but good)! No real physical delimmas, just talked to hunter about him most likely doing track and our goals for it! I tried actual running gloves (got for christmas) and it was SO much better than regular gloves! Woke up early and I usually feel better when I go to bed early and wake up early! (but I do have to go to bed early to feel better!) Meals before run: Breakfast- toast w/jam. (I am going to start recording my meals on here cause I use to have stomach problems and so I want to find out what was causing it).

| Out to the double churches and back. Was wearing a jacket but the weather was a little too warm for that so I had to roll my sleeves up. I felt really good though, and can't wait to run with the team again. I also can't wait for longer run...so fun! I saw real steel yesterday and even though its about robots boxing, it was really inspirational and helped me with my run today. Meals: none Sleep: 10 to 8= 10 hours of sleep. |
