Elliptical today. Last year at this time I went from 10% resistance to 11% . This year I decided to try 12% I knew it would be hard but I want to keep getting faster so I need to push myself every workout.
I got on the elliptical set the time for 50 minutes and the resistance to 12. By mile 2.5 my legs were burning I wanted to go back to 11% but I talked myself out of it. At the half way point (25 min) I was surprised to see that I was four tenths of a mile ahead. My legs were really burning and I quickly lost that four tenths and was really fighting just to stay on target (6 miles in 50 min) When I had a half mile left George Thorogood's "Bad to the Bone" came on and I kick some butty! finished the 6 miles in 43:54. It is funny how some songs can really pull you through when you need it. Here are the words to a song by Mute Math that has really helped me lately When I want to do my "typical" work out/effort
Come on can I dream for one day There's nothing that cant be done But how long should it take somebody before they can be someone
‘cause I know there's got to be another level Somewhere closer to the other side And I'm feeling like its now or never Can I break the spell Of the typical, the typical
Now I've lived through my share of misfortunes And I've wept to the blazing sun But how long should it take somebody before they can be someone
‘Cause I know there's got to be another level Somewhere closer to the other side And I'm feeling like its now or never Can I break the spell Of the typical, the typical, the typical
I'm the typical, I'm the typical
Can I break the spell of the typical
Because its dragging me down I would like to know about when When does it all turn around?
Yet I know there's got to be another level Somewhere closer to the other side And I'm feeling like its now or never Can I break the spell Of the typical, the typical, the typical
