Went to the Legacy Parkway to run with the SDRR I had planed to run 4 miles before and then 6 with the group. I got lost and arrived just 10 minutes before the rest of the group. I ran just the 6 miles. I think I must be low man on the miles board but I am cool with that!

This run seemed to tire out my quads more than normal. This is a flat route and I am wondering if when I run the hills they give my quads a rest?

1% incline 8X400 meter repeats @ 7:30 100 meter rest sprinted the last 100 meters at a 9.0 speed (not sure what pace that is) it was fun to go that fast...wish I could do it longer.

6 miles on the elliptical. I used the machine that make it more of a speed workout rather than strength. I think I will rotate every other week and see how that goes.
Lifted for legs - really tried to thrash them today so I can see how well I can run 10 miles tomorrow on tired legs.

When out early to meet up with the SDRR I ran four miles before they came. There were a lot of new people here today. We had long introductions before we started. I am not sure how to evaluate this run. With a 15 minute break in between I am not sure how it help my endurance training. It didn't feel like a 10 mile run more like a four mile run followed by a six mile run. I did met up with a Davis County police officer and ran the last three miles with him. He was a really nice guy and pushed me hard for those last few miles.

I had an odd run today. A lot of little issues made it hard to determine whether it was a good run or not. I want to run it slower than last week. I have felt like I am pushing my long runs a little too hard. I wanted to run most of the miles around 9:15-9:30
issues:
1) Set the wrong alarm so I got up late... could only run 3.3 miles before the group started rather than 4.
2) On the way to the group run I passed an old man stopped in the middle of the road I couldn't tell if he was passed out or just looking down, I was late so I just went by. During the whole run I wondered if he was in trouble and I should have stopped!
3) While waiting with the group I accidentally pushed the lap button on my watch so the splits will be off.
4)Ran the last two miles with at runner from our group, she seemed to be really struggling and I could just pass her so those miles were really slow.
Anyway with that in mind here are the splits.
Splits: 8:44, 4:13?, 8:24, 6:57?, 8:38, 8:46, 8:49, 8:55, 8:58, 9:39, 10,58

3 EZ miles. Last year in the Wasatch Back the heat killed me. For my run today I waited until 12:30 to go running so I could run in the heat of the day even thought it was not that hot out today. The heat did bother me a little bit but the steel cut oats I had for lunch about killed me. I wanted to go 5 miles today but at 1.5 miles I was worried I wouldn't make it home! I made it home but I still feel sick. Note to self NEVER RUN ON STEEL CUT OATMEAL!!!!!!!

My dog was up all night afraid of the wind. The vet said she has dementia. We have put her on medication, it doesn't seem to help. I think it is time to put her down but it is so hard when you love your dog so much. She can't walk and is afraid of everything now. I think I will run a ten mile route tomorrow that I have not run in a while and see how much time I have cut. Here are the splits from the last two times that I ran it way back in November.

4.5 miles at 8:20 1% incline. I started the run feeling a migraine coming on last night. I almost stayed home but then I thought if Rhett could run a marathon with a torn PF then I could run a tempo run with migraine. Funny thing around two miles the migraine when away. They always seem to come on Mondays the day after my rest day. Maybe I truly am addicted to running and the headaches are just me going through withdrawal. If running is the cure I am so for it!

Have any of you heard about a line of products called Enlyten? A neighbor of mine is a distributor and has asked me to try them. They are like the breathe strips that you put in your mouth but instead of fresh breath they give you energy or replenish your electrolytes. I tried them just today and think they are OK. | This was not a good training day for me. Legs felt tired right when I woke up. I had carpool today so I got to the gym late but I was still going to try and run 5 miles at race pace and then go to spin late. It was not to be, at mile 1.5 I was already using mind game to stay on the treadmill. I had only gone ONE mile at race pace. By the time I was at 4 miles I was done both mentally and physically. I had 10 minuets before class so I lifted for my hamstrings and then went to class. I couldn't get my heart rate up in class at all. I almost threw my monitor across the room, but that would be childish and I am an old lady after all. Any way not sure what I am going to do tomorrow I am scheduled to do 3 EZ miles and then spin.
