My legs felt really great today, I am sure it is from all the time I took off being sick.  I promised Andy that I would only do 15 miles today (I had thought about doing 22)  At the 7.5 mile mark I felt so good I thought Ill just go .5 more and do 16 at the 8 mile mark I thought Ill just do one more and make it 18 then I thought better and turned around at 8.25.

The miles just seemed to fly by and they all felt very easy.  I think part of it was a slight change in form.  When I ran with Smooth, Maynard and Kimmy two weeks ago we saw the BYU cross country team.  Their form was so effort less.  Smooth mention than when I ran you couldn't see the bottom of my shoe like you could with them.  I was doing more of an old lady shuffle then at true stride.  During this run I pretended then I had funny pictures on the bottoms of my shoes that I wanted to show everyone.  I really concentrated on trying to get a true stride.  It was really easy with my right leg but my left leg just wanted to flop along.  I think I am going to work on this for the next little while.  So if I run with any of you in the near future please check out my form and feel free to comment.  (Remember you can only check out my form not me, although I know I am one hot grandma!)

Splits:  9:08, 8:46, 8:35, 8:51, 8:49, 8:32, 8:39, 8:40, 8:37, 8:35, 8:42, 8:59, 8:44, 8:47, 8:50, 12:30 (walked big hill mile home)

Cool we get to check out the hot grandma's form! :) I'm so glad you had a good run today. It is great to get in a good one to build confidence here before the race.

YAY! Kathie! What a GREAT run you had, nice splits! So AWESOME that you're running w/o the granny shuffle. I still do the granny shuffle. VERY COOL to have that proprioceptive cue, show funny pictures at the bottom of your shoes. K, I will check out the hot granny, er hot grandma super cool running form!

Hey, do you want to wear a sign on our backs at Boston? Marcie suggested something like "Utah Grannies love Boston!" Let's think of something clever! You're good at that!

I really like my Boston outfits. I also ordered the sleeveless top like yours. I will most likely wear the s/s teal top and matching black shorts. They look great and match my running shoes. If it's really cold then I will wear tights. If it's really hot then I will wear the sleeveless.

GREAT run this morning, Kathie! You're SO ready for Boston!

YES!!!!!! What an awesome run!!! You have to feel good about that!!!! Laughed so hard when I read that you were imaging that you had funnies on the soles of your shoes. Only you Kathie!!!

Love ya!!!

So glad that you felt good on the run and even more happy that you stopped at 16. Very smart! Can't wait to see the funny pictures on the bottom of your shoes.

How are you feeling?

Nice run, Kathie!! (always glad to hear about happy runs)

Hey, I run like a granny when I run long. I always thought that that is how you should run marathons -- keep you feet as close to the ground as possible, not wasting energy lifting them high up in the air (save that for 5Ks). Maybe I've been doing it wrong all along. Hey, whatever works...go with it!
