pre something (1 Miles) 00:06:50, Place in age division: 21
|
| |
Ran 3 in morning before violin lessons
Ran 4 w/striders in afternoon and felt super slow and sickish. |
| | I ran level 1 cause coach told me to. wish megan was back:) |
| |
well, I ran with Chancie today! I was supposed to run 7, but coach said run 5 total. so yah
Then i ran 3 miles in the afternoon for a 2 a day cause my dad is taking thursday off work |
| | Ha i'm out of shape from the 2 week ish break! |
| |
Side ache, Firestation hill was killing me;) Kids club was super fun! |
| | Way good run! Felt so good, even after the break for trek! |
| |
Got Megan to run 4 with me and Liz! Happy day!
|
| | Fire Station hill was much easier than last week! Got a pep talk from Roberts on labeling yourself! was in front of kaylee boyer for 2 seconds:) | |
| | Good run with roberts and liz |
| | Ran with Dallen, ha, I'm going to beat him once before its too late |
| | GOOD! I loved the turf run with a loop towards Maverik! |
| |
Me and Liz stayed with the varsities until after the first dirt mile, and we fell behind about 100 meters or so. Stoner "tied her shoes" and so we caught up:) It felt pretty good to be with them!
| | Pretty good, although we got lost and found a creepy building:) I got a side ache around the last mile or so. |
| | wonderful grass run today! ran with liz, stayed with roberts and lady boyer most of the time:) felt good, no side ache | |
| | Ha, felt not so good. Got a side ache and i don't know, just was dying. I finished it though. |
| | Felt wonderful! I really like the freeway over pass run! Liz and I ran together. | |
| | Good run, me and Liz stayed with Lady Boyer and Stoner and Roberts! feels cool to be with them, a little harder but worth it. my arch on my right foot kind of hurt when I got home though:( | |
| | HAPPY DAY! I got to be a chosen child and run 6 with varsity ladies! I was kinda surprised when Roberts said my name, so surprised that I had to ask if he meant Kaelie... as in Gillespie Kaelie:) My foot didn't hurt today! It was still a little harder, but I stayed with them. |
| | Grass loops are soo long sometimes:) It felt pretty good, tiring but good. i need to drink more water and stretch better. Grouped with Mia, Stoner, lizl, Boyer, and roberts yet again! I tried to work on my form today, any advice? am i improving or do i still look like i'm sitting down? | |
| | hopefully this is okay- I promise to run 6 tomorrow. I hiked the narrows with my fam in the morning and slipped and hit my knee on some rocks. My knee was hurting so I decided to run 4 today and 6 saturday. My knee wasn't too bad once I got going, but it does hurt around the house. I iced it after the run. |
| | Alright, devin was going to run with me.... but he was asleep. Kinda of hard by myself. my knee didn't hurt once i got running |
| | Well, i ran with Devin in Salt Lake! Our average pace, if you take out the stopping time for intersections, was about 8:30. so alright pace, could've been a little better. my throat felt a little tight. devin had me stretch today:) | |
| | Pretty good run, with Devin and part with Dallen. Salt Lake is sooooo much darker than St. George at night, so glad I was with Devin... I also went faster cause I was scared. Stretched again:) |
| | ah, I learned not to eat junk all day and then run at night:) i also learned to watch out for cars, i almost got hit. Ran in salt lake with Devin and Dallen again. | |
| | cut the run short cause of lateness and need to do other things, found some grass though |
| |
well, I shouldn't have skipped friday and saturday, cause today I was a little more tired. I did fine until fire station hill on the way back, then I had to go to the bathroom and i just kinda gave up:( i went to the bathroom at the fire station instead of staying with roberts and mia. i won't give up tomorrow, i'm better than what i did today. Afternoon was horrible... TOO HOT! i felt good afterward, and I actually lifted alright!
| | dirt mile pretty good.. stayed with top girls! |
| | ah, i know im bad.... it was hard to find a good time for everyone to run at girls camp. 3 was kinda hard because i ate sooo much and the altitude, and hills:) |
| | 6 was okay today, a little harder because of my slackerness at girls camp:( ran with good group of girls-Mia, Nicole, Taylor, Aubrey, and Tommy joined us. went back with taylor at the end cause she was struggling with a side ache. didn't go to afternoon practice because of an eye appointment... sorry coach and self . I did bench a little at my house though |
| | 4 miles on dirt run was good, as well as kid club-much better participants this week! Aubrey and I stayed with coach roberts and Joy was with us the whole time for her 3 miles! she is so awesome! Ran 3 with Devin around 5, so not supa hot, but still hot. He doesn't know how to run slow, he even told me his form feels weird when he goes slow:) | |
| | am- good stuff, hills were hard but good. i kept about the same distance from Roberts the whole time, so i felt pretty good about it. Pm- its hot outside! took this one a little too easy, but at least i did it. | |
| |
horrible i know, but out in the middle of no where it is really dark and scary at 10pm |
| | good run, rained a little! |
| | did family fun run, i didn't race it but helped Karissa and her cousin race. |
| | Well i felt horrible from last week's gross habits. it was really hard to run during my music camp, but at least i ran every day? I didn't look at the blog until after i ran today, so i'll try to run more tomorrow, or tonight after EFY. oh i really better get cracking if i want to race good next week....AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! | |
| | 5, i was not feeling so swell- had to stop a couple times to breathe. 3, so hot! but i felt actually better than the morning. i am weak at lifting |
| |
AM- 4 dirt miles, stayed with roberts, mia, and stoner (or close behind) the whole time and felt pretty good. i am scared i'll not be in good enough shape for a race tomorrow though:( PM- 3 miles with Liz, oh so good to have a partner!

Cedar All Comers (3 Miles) 00:22:58 | | am- grass was awesome, love running a loop before grass loops! Race- well, I did not so good. I got boxed in at the beginning, and then worked my way up a little, but had a hard time not settling. I knew I was going slow, but I couldn't get myself to go. I sat too. well I guess that's what
| | We killed the hill work out! Me and nicole led the group, it was nice to be in front! |
| |
AM- Pretty good, ran with Devin. Alpine has huge houses. PM- Ran at night, felt awesome, also with devin again. we played the abc game, and of course got stuck on Q |
| | 5 with hill, well felt pretty good, i was a little tired but about 2 miles + was in this cool neighborhood with overgrown trees that created a canopy shade thing! awesome. |
| | AM- 7, we took it pretty easy this morning, it felt great outside. Me and Aubrey left Liz, Megan, and Taylor on the way back. My left ankle hurt though, and some of my arch did too. I don't know what i did, maybe twisted it? |
| | AM- 6.75, the work out was hard, i wasn't super consistent on 1000's, range of 4:02 to 4:17. Aubrey and Liz were always just right there, I needed to push harder to stick with them. PM- 2.37, because i waited too long and then it was too dark to finish it out ( i stopped to go to the bathroom and then couldn't finish the run) |
| |
AM- 3 with Nicole was supa AWESOME! love 6 am runs, they're the best! PM- 5, me and Nicole were pretty consistent i felt, but i think we could have pushed a little harder. Sprinklers are my best friends:) |
| | AM- 3 in the mornin was pretty nice, my lower right leg hurt a bit PM- 3 w/ striders was pretty good, i didn't drink enough water though and was sweating a ton and a half! missed the very end of plyos for violin lessons. |
| | AM- good 3 PM- 3 with 200's, those were pretty hard. |
| Race: |
hurricane invite (3 Miles) 00:24:18, Place overall: 42 | | Ha, not good at all. i totally gave up and settled. I ran varsity though and passed 3 hurricane girls at the end. i'll never give up during a race like that again. |
| | AM- good work out, really hard, 5x3minutes! so glad it was in the mornin though! i need to trust myself to go for the next level of pain PM- easy 3, weights were good | |
| | AM- 3, nice and easy! PM- 8 total. 4.5 was nice and cool at the end, time trial I felt pretty good about. I pushed harder than hurricane for sure, but I could've stayed with Aubrey and Liz at the beginning- that would've of pushed me. taylor was always a little ahead of me. I found I can push good up the hill and after, that's where i'd narrow the gap, but once we approached the grass by the tenis court i'd fall back again. I can finish strong, but i should start picking it up sooner- trust myself and all that good stuff. I passed Taylor at the end. |
| | AM- running in the rain was the best!!!! i loved it, and i felt pretty good about the workout! PM-easy three, also in rain! yah yah |
| | Am- only 2 cuz i forgot about some reading i needed to do PM- 3 with striders! prolly the funnest run i have had in a long time! green springs in the humidity was actually enjoyable as we were clapping, being whipped, and going crazy! weights were all right. |
| | AM- did it with Erin, Mariah, and Liz a little earlier and then did the 200's! they felt good and solid! PM- easy 3 was alright, i felt tired for some reason though, even though it was easy | |
| Race: |
SUU Invitational (3 Miles) 00:23:23, Place overall: 14 | | Well, we didn't warm up so good- that's not going to happen again hopefully. Well, I started out... and was in 1st place! and then i said to myself," what am i doing?" and so i slowed down, dumb i know yet it happened. and so i kept slowing down for a little bit before i picked it back up. my shoes stayed tied up:) I beat some girls at the end cuz this Cedar girl i'd worked hard to pass was catching me, so in staying in front of her i passed like 2 or 3 more girls too!!! |
| | missed afternoon for pit practice |
| | AM- good PM- 3 with the run a thon, alright PM2- 7 miles w/ 30 minute tempo, felt pretty solid, singing "Here Comes Santa Claus" really keeps the pace going! the river trail is super humid at night, but i love night runs! Me Nicole and Aubrey had a great time. |
| | ha ha ha ha, i felt like horrible stuff after running that tempo, sleeping, and then running again at 1:30am! |
| | AM- 4 w/ 4x200, great until plyos, then i felt a little light headed PM- i went bike riding with family:) |
| Race: |
Dixie Invitational (3 Miles) 00:23:30, Place overall: 23 | | AM- 3 was alright, felt a little hurty in the ankle area PM- Race was soooo much better!! I didn't rock my time so much, but i was much more positive! when my shoe came untied during the first lap i just kept on telling myself it wasn't untied and that i didn't hurt. I even sang a little "here comes santa claus" I started strong and didn't purposefully slow down:) i felt pretty good, i pushed to pass people( not to mention Abby's sister). this one cedar girl has a unique breathing pattern and it was bugging me at first until i realized it just meant she was pushing as hard as she could and i should be breathing that hard too. i didn't let anyone pass me at the end! it was a good race day for baby G
| Race: |
2012 Murray Invitational (3 Miles) 00:22:39, Place overall: 154 | | AM- good easy 3 PM- (almost 3) It was really good to run on the state course, I felt awesome to finally, after being a bystander for a billion years watching Danny and Devin, to run it! i really like the course. We stretched like i have never stretched before! RACE- this is my favorite course of all time now! well when coach told me my name could be nicole, he wasn't kidding- my race time card says Nicole Heinrich! and it was my PR:) I was sooo scared right before the race started, i was starting to feel sick. But then the gun went off and i didn't get elbowed and it wasn't even as bad as coach had said! i really pushed it and was with Liz for a while. then i fell a little behind and aubrey caught up to me. then i stayed with her for a little bit and fell behind again. then taylor caught up to me and the cycle repeated. i wasn't really slowing down a ton though. around 700 meters left i felt really tired and wondered when in the world this was going to end! and then i got in front of some girls and then they passed me back at the finish. i almost puked. I ended up only 9 girls behind Aubrey and 11 girls behind Taylor. i feel good about that race. i pushed so hard, it was awesome to have so many other girls so you always were pushing to get in front of other people. being nicole is kinda fun:)
| | lovely 5 at 7 am with liz, oh how sleepy that felt and a little sore-ish! |
| | Am- had math hw PM- 7, did my workout, didn't feel the greatest, kinda hard to pace right cuz i was late cuz of a dentist appointment. | |
| Race: |
PV Time Trial (2 Miles) 00:15:30 | | Am- 3 with striders was fantastic! lightning was a little scary at first PM- TIME TRIAL, well i did not do so hot. it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the greatest either. i got to convince myself that i can go with Taylor, i know i am capable- it is just daring to reach that next level of pain and believing i can push harder and not die for reals. the hills with Stoner and Mia were really good! |
| | AM- 4 miles, pretty good! scared mia and JP! PM- 3 was fantastic with weights |
| | AM- well, 3 w/ 4x200's was soo cool because we saw the bright thingy in the sky! PM- 3, really pm cuz i had pit orchestra after school, then a violin lesson at 5, then Mutual at 6:30 to about 9, so i didn't run until about 9:30. i went with chancie! we had a good ole run in the darkness |
| Race: |
Herriman Invitational (3 Miles) 00:24:49, Place overall: 42 | | AM- 3 PM- 3 at State Course, found a phone! Race- wow, motha cussa is a big one! the sand was hard to run in. I felt strong during most of it, like the first hill( and the second time we went up it) and on the down hills, and levelish areas. but the one spot on the end of the first loop (and again that same spot on the second), i felt sluggish and just out of steam. then the motha cussa:) i wont complain about hill workouts anymore, those poor Herriman folks! |
| | AM- 5 w/ 2 mile indian run at the end, plus 4x200's, that was the funnest run i've had for a while! oh the joys of running fast like a tree, choo-choo train, cat, and rocket! don't forget the sound effects- that was hilarious! i didn't feel so hot during the 200's though, kinda headache and gross. i was a little slow during the indian run too. shoulda ran on saturday, but we had a fun time with Devo! PM- 3 w/ 4 hills, 4x100's, pretty great except i felt a little dehydrated, so, yah. i need to force myself to drink more tomorrow. | |
| | AM- good 3 with striders, only the baseball field was like freezing my feet numb! PM- ran at night while my mom biked, really hurt on my left upper thigh, the back side. i had my momma stretch me out, and roll me with a rolling pin and it helped pretty good |
| Race: |
Nebo Invitational (3 Miles) 00:23:05, Place overall: 85 | | AM- good 3 RACE- the false start kinda scared me, but i needed it cuz my first start wasn't so good. well, I felt pretty strong throughout the race, and my second aunt and cousin were there, he ran and my aunt cheered for me! that helped, so did all the team's cheering, particularly megan and both coaches- thanks much! I kept on trying to pass people, and passed the dixie team:) but i didn't have as good of a kick as I should've had. then i looked at my time and i was about a minute behind Taylor Boyer and a minute and a half behind Liz, so that kinda made me disappointed with myself. I think the next step is to keep being strong but amp up the pace and like coach said, dare to go for it. i think there is more in me that i am just scared to try to use. but the best part of the race was..... MY SHOES DIDN'T COME UNTIED! happy day! i like this course, its pretty good.
| | 8- ran the state course for warm up, felt super, super cold! and our shoes were soaked! wow! then we did the workout, the 3x( 2min, 1min, 30sec) thingy. i stayed pretty close to JP, Stoner, and Mia for the first set and was in front of the other girls, that was good. then the next 2 min was up that hill, and i fell behind more from the top girls, but was pretty close to taylor. the next ones were better until the next 2 minuter up the continuous incline across the pond, i fell behind there too, but was still in front of liz and nicole. the last minute and 30 secs were better. then we ran the course back to the pond. the 3 miles to watch the JV's was alright, my inner right foot kinda hurt and so did my mosquito bite, but not that bad. It was fun to cheer for them. |
| | AM- oh not so good. 6.5 - 4x 30 sec, 3x 800's, 2x 1000's (indian run style) I felt pretty good on the 30 secs an first 800- even Liz told me good job on those, she knew i could do better in races after seeing me do those. But then the next 800 i didn't stay close enough to Liz and Taylor. the last one was alright, i was closer to those two after coach roberts got me past my wanting to give up stuff. But the 1000's, I don't know if I have gone that fast in a long while- maybe ever. i had such a hard time, and then I had to sprint and couldn't hold it once i got up front- coach ran into me and i pulled out. then I slowed down a bunch which was not good. Then the second one I kept up a little longer, but also fell behind after my turn to sprint. this time coach holt stayed back and made me push it- thanks coach. he even gave me several pushes. I finished not too far behind taylor this time. Oh, i know i need to do better, but I honestly was having an extremely hard time this morning. PM- good ole green springs 3, w/ 4 stadium hills & 4 x100's | |
| | AM- I was on time for Michigans and super positive (i had to be positive for seminary the whole day). the whole thing on the track turned out to be alright, super good for pacing. I stayed with Nicole for about the first 6 laps, then fell behind about 50 meters. but i got B standard! | |
