I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. I like ultimate frisbee, trail running, reading, and cheering for the Denver Broncos!   And I have the absolute best wife in the world.  And I used to run for the now-disbanded national Team Pearl Izumi- Ultra!

Lunch- First speedwork of any sort since June, other than some hard trail runs.  And my legs were appropriately sluggish.  5 mile warmup, then just under 4 miles hard.  We did loops around a .86 mile lake- first loop was 4:45 (5:31 pace), then next 2 were 10:21 (6:01 pace), and last one was 5:27 (6:20 pace).  Yeah, definitely started out WAY too fast and died.  Definitely not in 5k, 1/2 marathon, or marathon road race shape.  I just was notified I made it into the Shut In Ridge Run (I was number 57 on a wait list with only 200 runners in the race).  It's a 20+ year old trail race in Asheville, NC, 18 miles long with 5000 ft climbing, so you know it has to be good.  11 miles total in 74 min.

Congrats on making the cut. Looking forward to yet another amazing race report. I have to survive through them so keep'em coming.
