I have five cute kids. And I have some rockin short green racing shorts- I wear them mainly because it embarrasses my wife so much. AM- Ran Ephraim's Grave, a great route, for possibly the last time.  Really enjoyed it- nice day, and my legs felt relatively fresh for the first time in a week.  Saw hundreds of sheep, one sheepherder, and 2 bikers the whole time.  What a nice morning to be out on a fun trail  12 miles, 2800 ft climbing and descending, in 1:56:20.  Toe was stiff and sore, but didn't slow me down at all.

I received a shipment of 4 shoes from SGRC today, which means I have 15 pairs of shoes I can wear!  7 road, 8 trail.  I should be good for a long time, now.

That's a lot of shoes. I have two pair, both are for trails.

Ephraim as in the grizzly bear?

Nice job so far this week Jon. Keep it rolling buddy. Keep it healthy and your sure to become a trial legend.

Dave- yes, it is a monument to Old Ephraim the grizzly bear, at the spot where he was killed.

I went to school up there for a semester and seem to remember tales of this mythical Ephraim.

Jon - Before moving to Salt Lake in 2002 I lived in Greenville for almost 20 years. Went to college at Furman University and taught history along with coaching track and cross country for 6 years at Berea High School. Greenville is a great town in a lot of ways. Like many Utah cities, you drive North just a couple minutes on Highweay 25 and you approach the mountains and lots of trails. Pro cyclist George Hincappie has lived in Greenville for many years.

I think you will find a lot of good trail running in Northern Greenville County, and the North Carolina border is only about 20 miles away. Also, the trails are open all year pretty much - unlike Utah.

Let me know if you need any info.

Rob

That is great to know you used to live there- I send you a private message from the FRB forum. Please take a look and send me any info you can. I'd love to get some insider info before I get there!
