Ran middle distance in college with a PB of 1:52 for the 800 meters, then continued running with varying degrees of seriousness throughout my 20's and 30's. Moved up in distance and even ran three marathons (2:43 PB). Now just trying to stay in shape and find balance in life in my 40's.

Nice run at 7 p.m. Warm and humid from the rain earlier. Felt great. Ran slow at first and finished with 6 x 20 sec pickups the last 10 minutes.

First run in 9 days. The last 4+ months have been my worst running phase of my life. Today I signed up for the Seattle Rock n Roll half marathon in June (I will be in Seattle for a conference anyway) so maybe I'll start training again.

Greenbelt - 1:03
Had a bit of time this morning and got in a good run. I haven't run over an hour in....I don't know how long, but it's been a while. Out in about 7:40 pace, back in about 7:15-7:20. Felt pretty good. Started at Orchard Street and went upstream to the golf course and back.
P.M. - Pushed Nica to Grace Jordan and back for some playground time. 11 minutes of running to pad the total! |

Squeezed in a short run to take a break from yard work.

Did some fartlek during the run. Wasn't on my "A" game today for sure. 4 x 3:00 w/ 2:00 recoveries. Pace on pickups was 6:18/mile (slow). Also did a quarter mile at about 5:50/mile. Hopefully will feel better tomorrow. |
