Going in to this race my left knee was questionable at best. Once warmed up and started it was fine. First half in 1:27:52 - Was feeling good through about 15 - maybe it was too fast first half ? I don't think it was - my legs were worn down from 3 marathons, a couple 5ks, and a half in the last 3 months. 6 marathons in a year's time. Oh well - all weak excuses - my fitness wasn't there after having to go fairly easy the last 2 weeks before this race due to knee problems. Dropped down to 9:00's and 10:00's over last 10k and hobbled in in 3:17:33 on extremely sore right hamstring, left calf and both knees... :) I predict a much better marathon in the spring after some rest and training only for that single marathon (instead of just entering every race that comes up :)) 6:20, 6:49, 6:44, 6:43, 6:42, 6:45, 6:40, 6:45, 6:40, 6:46, 6:37, 6:45, 6:45, 6:55, 7:05, 7:29, 7:21, 7:26, 7:17, 7:31, 8:10, 8:00, 9:00, 9:30, 10:20, 12:03, 2:25

1.5 mi. WU w/ strides getting the knee loose - kind of - it still felt tight and slightly painful. Pretty slow time on a hilly course. Fell off pace at the end as well :( - oh well - it felt good to get a decent paced run in, after a week off. PS - Isn't a 5k 3.1 miles? I keep getting the error message that this entry is not a standard distance?

| Tree City 10k in Greensburg, IN. Flat course but with some minor "obstacles" specific to the conditions of the race. This flat, 2-lap course passes over a one lane bridge where slower runners participating in 5k cause a traffic jam - had to "lightly nudge" a runner as I passed to her right - sorry whoever you were :( Part of the course follows a gravel path that is ground down to a sandy surface - this noticeably slowed me down on both laps. The head wind at times was also a factor. However, I think this is actually my 10k PR, though not the time I was shooting for. 2nd overall. What am I doing wrong here? The same error message with a "non-standard distance"?
