Met the regular Saturday group for our first 20 miler as we prepare for Boston.  I was very nervous and was preparing myself for the possibility that I might not be able to keep up or have to quit because my longest run in preparation was a 14 miler 5 weeks ago. ( I missed 16 & 18 because I was in India).   I  was pleasantly surprised that I felt great until about mile 17 and I really began to tire.   I did stay with the group the entire time and we had a good pace.  I knew we would be running the hill at the Daybreak Temple and I was okay with that until I saw it.  I have never wanted to just close my eyes and run so bad, but the desire to not fall and get hurt made me keep them open.

Ice bath aftwards for 20 min and other than tired hips and calfs, I am still feeling pretty good at the end of the day!

Happy Running!

Great job Jody and that is an awesome pace for a long training run with hills and all! Are you still thinking about coming the week after spectrum??

You did so great Jody! You had a big leap in miles to that 20 and you still seemed to stay strong up to the very end. Great work!
