PM - 6 miles. Two horsepark loops to get loose, then changed into XC spikes and did 12 x 1 minute on the grass. The Carrera 4s impressed. Definitely the nicest xc spike I've ever worn.

PM2 - Wasatch SkiMo Race #2. I'm trying to make it to as many of these as possible this year. Not planning to actually race them... just going to have a good time. It's a fun group of people. I don't really need another competitive outlet or more gear... and plus, as Andrea said - "You'll get worked." 

Every event has a different race format - this one was a team relay. But we got there late and missed the official start, so Andrea, Amiee, and I did two laps of the course and called it good for the night.

Noon - 17 mile long run. Averaged 7:30/mile, about the same pace as the last couple longer runs. Having a hard time getting myself moving quicker (on all runs), almost certainly due to slacking on the hamstring rehab. Both sides have been tight and inhibiting my stride. I need to get serious about fixing this issue.

AM - 10 miles. 6 mile AT Tempo in 33:36 (5:36/mile avg). Tempo loop.

PM - Wasatch SkiMo Series #3. Criterium style. Wore spandex this time. Learned that you need to get straight to the front in a rando race. I was stuck behind a lot of people on the first lap, but then had room to operate on the next two laps and got in a pretty good (and fun!) workout. Lots of respect for the folks who are really good at SkiMo - it's a challenging sport.

AM - 18 mile long run. Averaged 7:20/mile. Knocking out LRs on Friday mornings before work will probably be a regular occurrence this winter / spring so I can fully capitalize on ski season, assuming it eventually starts snowing.

Sundance Resort was cool enough to allow uphill skiing on the back side of their mountain this morning, before they open it up to the public and get the lifts running tomorrow. This event wasn't competitive, but Surface Skis (who sponsored the event) tossed out the challenge of climbing 10,000 vertical feet, so that's what a lot of folks were doing. Ski patrol let the SkiMo crowd use the Arrowhead / Bearclaw area, which is a 1280' climb - so skinning 8 laps got you 10,000 feet plus a little bonus. I knocked it out in 5 hours before heading down to the Owl Bar. This was a really good time and I hope more ski areas consider allowing this kind of event occasionally, especially when the snowpack is thin. I think close to 100 people showed up... not too shabby.
