10 miles this 54th birthday morning. I know some people run their age in miles on their birthday, next week I'm running the Antelope Island Buffalo Run 50k. I'll tack on an extra 4k for a 54k birthday run. Maybe I can start a new fad of running kilometers per year. I ran the Grizzly Peak Trail up Perry Canyon. It was a nasty, windy morning with dust being kicked up at the gravel pit, but once I got into the canyon the wind was blocked. The single-track was in great shape. Only a few muddy spots. After about 600 ft elevation gain the snow appeared (I was running a north facing slope). It was crusty and slick, but the snow would only cover the trail for 50 or 60 feet at a time. Most of it was runnable. Blasting the downhill to home was fun. |
