Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in  2025.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

4:45am...5 miles solo.  Moxie has been limping around for the past few days, time to take her to the vet to check it out. (Ride Orange)

Justin had another recruiting conversation with a college coach last night. Cool.  Hope we can figure out his injury issue though, this senior season is not working out well right now. College coaches have been great in telling him to focus on getting healed up instead of pushing it. Not the same locally, sad.  5 offers from coaches to run on their college teams so far, several more in discussion.  Kansas schools really like him!

Saw doctor, appears to be a sartorius strain/tear.  Getting MRI this week and will find out more Thursday.  Resting from running until we know more.

4:30am...5 miles easy with Erik T.  Nice to catch up.  (Ride Orange)

Results of Justin's MRI later today.  Justin has a labral tear in his right hip likely caused by his fall at the USNA this summer.  His knee has no structure issues but a bad case of tendonitis.  Now we need to work with the docs on the path forward...knee most likely rest after and an investigative injection; hip look at PRP or maybe surgery, need to get some opinions (vary widely on the internet).  He is out of racing for at least 3 weeks for a miraculous return or rest of season.

Too busy today for a second run.

Heavy rain this morning, skipped running early may go after breakfast with my Dad.

5 miles in a light rain. (Guide 7)

This running thing is treating my family like crap.  First my 3 year old injury won't heal up, then Justin's injury and now Katelyn was forced to DNF at her race today due to calf issues. Time to just quit.  Need to try to chill...need a drinking buddy right now.
