Short-Term Running Goals:

Keep on running, enjoy it for the sake of running, relax and enjoy life...de-stress.  Stay fit as I enter retirement in < 4years.

No racing, retired.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Keep running until this old body says no, running for fun.

Personal:

 I started running competitively in 2005 and ran my first marathon in 2005. Now retired from competitive racing.

Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer;

answer me, for I need your help.
Protect me, for I am devoted to you.
Save me, for I serve you and trust you.
You are my God.
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
for I am calling on you constantly.
Give me happiness, O Lord,
for I give myself to you.
O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive,
so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.
Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord;
hear my urgent cry.
I will call to you whenever I’m in trouble,
and you will answer me.  - Psalm 86:1-7

6am...10 easy miles before church on a warm morning.  8 miles with Moxie along Sunnyside, dropped her off at home then went back out for 2 more.  Felt good, no niggles (but still just easy).  (Ride 3)

Weights at the gym after a long day at church (Bible study, service, wedding, movie afternoon).  Needed to get up and move.

5:30am...same run as yesterday, 8 miles with Moxie along Sunnyside then 2 more solo for 10 miles total.  Very nice morning for a run...32 degrees and a very light breeze.  A bit tired, hammy/glute ok, left ankle was tweaked at the start but got better.  Saw 5 other runners out this morning.  (Ride 3)

4:45am...6 miles with Moxie along Sunnyside.  Warmish still but tired and leg a bit tweaked.  Ran into Curt, Alana and Gama and ran about 1/2 mile with Curt.  Broke out a new pair of shoes for the rotation.  (Ride 3 2015)

5 miles at lunch on a nice day.  Pathways were mostly dry except in the park where they were sheets of ice.  (Ride 3 2013)

I think that my hamstring issue is proximal/high hamstring tendinopathy, not just a hamstring strain.  Might be looking at some time off from running to get over this.  Time to spin with Kami in the mornings and lift more?

Gave my hamstring a rest this morning and went to the gym to lift weights.  Way weaker than when I did this as my primary exercise, but it is coming back.  May do a light run at lunch schedule depending.

5 very easy miles on a cold day (14 degrees) at lunch.  Leg felt pretty good, have it wrapped again. (Ride 3 2013)

Skipped a morning workout to sleep in a bit and did some rehab exercises at home before work.

6 very easy miles at lunch on a sunny, calm and cool 18 degree day.  Hammy felt good, glute a bit tight.  (Ride 3 2013)

Spinning class with Kami after work, good workout to help with rehab.  Got a really bad calf cramp right at the end of the class...hard to even get off the bike and walk.

6am...spinning class for recovery and rehab.  Hammy/glute feeling good but calf still sore from yesterday.  Keeping up with rehab exercises too.

4 easy miles with Justin through the neighborhood after school on nice afternoon.  Spent the whole time just chatting...pretty fun! (Boost)

5am...4 easy miles with Moxie in a freezing fog. Hammy and glute sore from yesterday (sitting for 3 hours on a hard chair last night) plus feeling a cold coming on.  Another day at a great church activity but sitting again all day.  (Ride 3 2015)
