Marathon: 2:37:04 (St. George 2009) Short-Term Running Goals: Train for as solid a race in Boston 2011 as my schedule will allow. Accept the fact that there isn't room in my life to train for a breakthrough performance and do the best I can under the circumstances.
Long-Term Running Goals: Lose the all-or-nothing mentality and
start using running as an outlet instead of an additional source of
stress. Personal: I'm married with 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and live in Salt Lake City, where I work as a real estate attorney.
Let me have men about me that are fat, Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights. Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look, He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

Very easy run with Brooke. I pushed Janey in the jogger and Brooke took Maya. Very easy pace. AHR/MHR: 147/177. |

Run/hike up Big Beacon with Patrick. Really only ran about 2.5 miles, but grade was so steep (gain of 1750 feet over 2 miles) that I was able to keep HR pretty high on the hiking sections, too. Incredible view from the top, especially after climbing the ladder to the top of the tower! Should have gone back the way we came; we took what seemed like a mountain goat trail down, cutting nearly a mile of distance and nearly causing great harm to ourselves. Shoes were barely able to stay intact, but we somehow made it down safely. AHR/MHR: 151/178 |

| Sugarhouse loop in the rain with Maya. Quads
are sore from yesterday's descent, but generally felt fine. No more AT
pain than usual, which is a good sign given the amount of climbing I've
done lately. AHR/MHR: 160/181

| Country Club loop. Legs still feeling heavy from Wednesday's Big Beacon run. Also
dealing with some mental fatigue from craziness at work. Overall, I
just felt spent. Nice morning for a run, though. AHR/MHR: 161/184

| Long-ish run with Patrick to 11th Ave and over to Capitol. Returned via Popperton trail. Felt tired start to finish, extremely fatigued after the run, continuing well into the day. Outside stresses seem to be getting to me. Blah. |
