Running Accomplishments:

Won Park City Marathon (tiny field, slow course, no purse) and Utah Grand Slam in 2006

Marathon: 2:37:04 (St. George 2009)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Train for as solid a race in Boston 2011 as my schedule will allow.  Accept the fact that there isn't room in my life to train for a breakthrough performance and do the best I can under the circumstances.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Lose the all-or-nothing mentality and start using running as an outlet instead of an additional source of stress.

Personal:

I'm married with 4 kids (2 boys, 2 girls) and live in Salt Lake City, where I work as a real estate attorney.

Let me have men about me that are fat,
Sleek-headed men and such as sleep a-nights.
Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look,
He thinks too much; such men are dangerous.

"Julius Caesar," Act I, scene 2, 190-95

Set PR (2:48:11) at Ogden to finish 7th, beating previous best of 2:53:25. Stayed with group of 5 for first 5 miles or so (on initial descent), but left them when pace dropped off of 6:30. Ran alone from mile 6 on. 1/2 packet Enervitene (w/H2O) around 1:00, 1:35, 2:00, 2:30; Powerade at every other aid station. Under 6:00 at 14, 18, 23. Blistered on ball of left foot. Doc in medical tent said midsole had broken down and that 300 was too much mileage on a shoe to use in a downhill marathon.

Easy 4 for first post-Ogden run. Soreness mainly confined to quads/IT bands. Left Garmin home but probably averaged 6:45.

Sugarhouse loop at relaxed pace. Had some pain in lower part of inner knee (near calf) for first mile, but nothing after that.

23rd Loop 5: 34:37 (avg of 6:55). Last mile: 5:52. Pain in same place as last night, but pain was less and only lasted 1/2 mile. A little residual muscle soreness in IT bands and some fatigue in quads, but otherwise feeling good.

Avg: 6:38. Brooke out of town, so had to squeeze quick run in between getting kids off to school and going late to work.

23rd Loop 4, but ran into Ginger and ran ~2 miles at her pace. Soreness in right hamstring in location of old tear (1989) after run (none during), so stretched longer than normal.
