"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

235 and all these days in the double digits...I'm concerned you are on the verge of crossing a sanity threshold, if you haven't already.

lol! i was pushed across that threshold by the age of ten!

excellent week.

this is off topic, but i have been meaning to ask you (you don't have to answer)...helium shortage. has it affected you?

From Kam on Thu, Aug 16, 2012 at 16:15:00 from 68.66.163.179

It's strange allie bring up the helium shortage. With all the natural gas exploration and drilling going on in ND, you'd think there would be a surplus. Something is afoot...

From JD on Thu, Aug 16, 2012 at 18:29:39 from 65.130.164.107

thanks allie!

it's funny you mention the helium shortage. we quit the balloon racket years ago, but we found a huge box of mylar balloons when we were cleaning out storage the other day and we gave them to a gift shop in a hospital whose cooler we stock. i didn't realize there was a helium shortage until two days ago when i dropped those balloons off and the gift shop owner mentioned it. i admit ignorance when it comes to who else is affected by such a shortage. i guess the topic is now trending.

Kam, something is afoot - it's a helium conspiracy. beware of burly grown men with squeaky high voices!

i saw a sign at harmon's a few weeks ago -- they were apologizing for their inability to fill balloon orders due to the helium shortage. i thought it was a joke so i had to look it up. interestingly enough, my search brought up two stories: the national helium shortage and the story of two men attempting to fly from oregon to montana on balloon-powered lawn chairs. then i dug deeper and found out how much it is affecting businesses like florists, and i thought: "ohhhhh noooo!" i'm glad it hasn't been an issue for you.

what flavor is this koolaid you speak of?
