"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

Hmmm, it was way muggy when I ran but not hot. Leaving at 6 am must have been a good thing. It was perfect, even a bit cold at the end (due to the humidity causing me to sweat profusely even when I was not hot).

Hey, I went to the dentist yesterday! Miserable appointment and afternoon, but now I am all good again. No one really understands how bad tooth pain is until they have it, huh????

Have a great weekend JD! What is NEXT for you, BTW?

So muggy! I have never sweat in my ear lobes before. My music actually stopped working bc of the sweat. yuck

I sweat in my earlobes all the time. I have to take the ear pods out and dry them cause they stop working. GROSS.

From JD on Fri, Jul 08, 2011 at 15:47:53 from 70.96.78.149

Mmmm, sweaty earlobes.

Tooth pain sort of trumps all other of life's concerns when you have it. I'm your appointment went well.

I don't have any race plans, except maybe Goblin Valley again. I'm going to pace a buddy who's running the Leadville Trail 100 in August. I could be running the last 50 with him. So I guess my focus is sort of on that right now, although you couldn't tell from the sad state of my mileage base. I've got a lot of running to do in the next few weeks!

You will be pacing the LAT 50 of 100 miles, I am sure you will be fine!

I am in for Goblin Valley again, I loved it. I think we are probably going to camp this time. My kids absolutely loved it there.
