"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

10 miles / easy. From work. Overcast, temps in the low 50's. Moving pretty slow. Achilles still a little tight. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the worst, my achilles was about a 3. Progress.

WT 36.9 miles.

progress is good. 3 is better than 4. nice run.

3 is better than 4. But I think you have a high pain tolerance. Your 3 would probably be my 5. Or my 4 & 3/4's or my 3.75 or something. NICE TEN!

Three sounds good, but be honest! When is Ogden again?

From JD on Mon, May 16, 2011 at 22:24:06 from 71.37.100.47

Ogden is this Saturday. There's about a 1% chance that I'll run it. The long view dictates that I just let this one go, and enjoy many pain free miles this summer. The 1% is if temptation wins at the last minute.

Take care of that achilles.

Is there a little devil sitting on your shoulder right now? Listen to Carolyn- angel and take care!

From Lysa on Tue, May 17, 2011 at 11:14:29 from 50.8.74.241

I agree. I would hate to see you be out for the summer. Nothing would be worse than NOT being able to run at all.

don't do it!

It is with some measure of confidence that I can reply to all of you with that age old phrase: "That's what she said."
