"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

i'm jealous, it's thirty-something, windy, and raining here....

as much as i hate them, today is liable to be a treadmill kind of day...

nice progression run there. you may want to let burt know your strategy for accomplishing this, as he doesn't think it is possible to run progressively faster each mile unless you are on the TM. loving the weather.

Great progression run. Was it on purpose?

Thanks. Progression runs are fun

I did do it on purpose. I do it by doing the math. I see my first mile split, figure out what I need to do 5 seconds faster for the next, check where I'm at at .5 and .75 and adjust my pace in the last quarter, either slowing down or speeding up. It's a great way to occupy the mind while running. Also, I try running the first .75 of each mile fast enough that I can take a little break the last .25.
