"Engaging in a little suffering — however self-imposed, arbitrary and contrived — before breakfast each morning tends to demand some humility and injects some marked relief into the rest of the day, making things sharper, more inspired, more immediately aware of the powerful presence of being. And that seems really worthwhile." A. Krupicka

"I cruised down hills, churned up hills, and floated over the asphalt, existing in a world that seemed to lack the confinements of such ubiquitous rivets as time, obligation, or pain. I knew then that this was destined to be one of those serendipitous runs for which so many of
us strive yet so rarely achieve." J. Nevels

7.5 miles / 9:19 avg. Drove twenty miles East up Weber canyon to get out of the gunky air of the valley. It was worth the drive as the skies were crystal clear and I could see for miles. Parked in Peterson and ran along "Old Highway Road", basically a frontage road. Had some good long steady climbs and descents both going out and coming back.  Still in recovery mode from Saturdays effort.

smart move JD!! I bet it was gross looking down into the SL valley. I remember those days well, yuck.

Your effort Saturday was awesome!

Thanks! Tomorrow's air quality is forecast to be even worse. Then hopefully it will let up a little Wednesday. This gets noticeably worse every year. I usually go ahead and run in the gunk, but sometimes (like today) I just have to get out and find some clear sunshine.

That's quite a long trek

You're addicted for sure

For just seven miles.

I'm glad you were able to find some clear air to run. It sounds like you got some hills with the bargain.
