AM/Lunch: 10 miles, averaged ~8:10 w/ 30-minute farlek

28' up/30' farlek of 6 x 3 minutes w/ 2 minute jogs/23' down

First two were around 6:05 pace, the next 2-3 in the 5:50s, and the last one was around 5:45.

My backup watch is messing up. My next GPS will not be a Garmin. Complete junk.

What are non-Garmin options for "Garmins"? I didn't even realize they had competitors.

Other than the time Andrea ran over one with her car, we've always had good luck with them. (I might have just totally jinxed myself by typing that.)

I think I am just rough on stuff and never take very good care of my stuff.

I'd probably buy a Suunto. Big among trail runners and the Garmin hating folks. I apparently threw away the soft bands that could have repaired at least one of my watches. I've been using my 210 the last few days. It's now frozen.

Based on Sara Hall's FitBit Pro (whatever their GPS model is) I would not buy one of those. The data was clearly off:

I just bought a Garmin 620, and I know you don't want to go the Garmin route. But it is pretty legit. Everything is Bluetooth through Garmin Connect. Get done with your workout, automatic upload to your garmin connect, strava, etc. Also the updates come automatically too. This is where I've struggled with Garmin. The GPS needs to have current software to run properly and with the old watches that had to be done by plugging them into the computer.

Thanks, Ben. I've been using a 620 since about May 2015. I like vet the watch but the strap is breaking. I wear it too low and too tight I think. I have a warranty I just need to call to get it straightened around. You would think the wireless transfer is not a big deal but it stinks going back!

I've found over the last 6 months or so the current pace only reads in multiples of 5 seconds. It's close enough if I'm doing a workout but that it didn't originally do this bothers me. I even did a hard reset.
