North side - 3.5 miles, averaged 7:46. One restrained stride at the end.

Weather still looks good for Sunday. I may need to bring my hat and gloves for the warmup. Things are getting warmer here. Not so much in Northern Maine.

I looked at race times from previous years. I saw a handful of sub 2:30s and even a 2:23 (winners obviously). Mostly the winner runs uncontested. Last year sub-2:55 would have taken third. Hard to say year to year. A-goal is to beat Coach Bam's prediction by enough that his comment on my report begins "Jakers . . . " (I think that's the term he used in my last breakthrough. Second to last I guess.) I will, however, predict his prediction to be 2:56:24. I think I'm good for 2:55, which would put me in the 10-minute window for Boston, but I've yet to run a good marathon (good meaning very hard at the end but not have my legs completely shut down). My real goal, then, is to run well.

Thanks. I'll be tracking you while I prop my legs up tomorrow!

So now after the race we can evaluate how Bam did on his prediction, then evaluate how you did on your prediction of his prediction.

Good luck!

The process of prediction could go on . . .

From Bam on Fri, May 17, 2013 at 14:01:59 from 89.126.28.24

And then, of course, there's Joe's prediction...

Good luck Jason - we'll be expecting a great result tomorrow!

Thanks, Bret. If not , I'll blame it on the cupboards full of snacks my mother keeps. Jakers! :)

2:52! Nice work.

From Jake K on Sun, May 19, 2013 at 09:06:13 from 67.177.11.154

Just saw your time too! My guess was 2:54 so you beat that easily. Nice work!

From Bam on Sun, May 19, 2013 at 10:37:47 from 89.126.28.24

Well done Jason. I told Joe that you should run 2:52 but I thought you might go out bit too quick and run 2:53 high. I think Joe got it bang on:)

Well done, looking forward to the report.

From Bret on Sun, May 19, 2013 at 11:13:28 from 96.228.167.228

Congratulations Jason - Well Done! Can't wait to read the race report.
