2x3 miles at 6:00 pace with 11 miles total. The first interval was tough. William was supposed to do all 3 miles with us but he dropped back after 1. Dad, Chad, and I ran 17:43. My legs were feeling pretty tired, Dad said he had a hard time as well. Chad said the pace felt pretty easy. I got pretty worked up because the pace felt harder than it should have, I need to not worry when I think something feels harder than it should. Before we did the next interval Dad massaged my legs to loosen them up. That made me feel a lot better. We split about 6:00 at the mile, it felt a lot easier than in the last interval. At 1.5 we had 8:56. I felt good so I speed up to about 84's. Dad came with me, Chad tried to keep up but fell back after about 400 meters. Dad and I ran 5:33 for the last mile, last quarter in 78. I got 17:20, Dad was right behind me. Chad was about 40 seconds behind us. He had to stop and tie his shoe (that's why you should run in crocs :)). I think changing my attitude and loosening up a bit helped a lot. I'm hoping I can run under 1:18:00 in the half next week.
