4 then bear attack struck with full force, kind of unexpected, made the last 1.5 very uncomfortable..but i did make it back...barely. first 2 miles were both 7:05, pretty steady early..never got in a rhythm. 40:00 total for 7:16 avg pace, althought most of the last mile was interrupted with "don't crap your pants" stops for about 30 sec intervals.

5 mile slogfest this morning, weather wasnt actually too bad, just felt like i was running in wet cement cuz my legs were apparently tired. 37:54, 7:35 avg pace. strides after side note, since my sickness, ive hit 37.5 in the last 7 days for 5.4 a day, not too shabby as im trying to build, now i need to decide if i should take a day off this week..

| weather is awful today, makes sense given all the good weather we've been blessed with lately. it was 10 degrees with wc's between -10 and 0 with 30mph winds, so definitely not a day i was gonna run outside. decided to hit the treadmill for a "long" run of 9 miles, the treadmill only runs for 60 minutes so i had to pause quickly to restart it near the end of the run. splits on my watch taken during each mile on the mill: 1- 7:15.3 2- 7:02.3 3- 6:58.4 4- 6:48.2 5- 6:50.1 6- 6:49.4 7- 6:37.6 really cranked the mill up here 8- 7:06.9 9- 7:08 total-- 1:02:37, 6:57 avg pace felt pretty good overall today

| cold run outside today, 20 degrees with wc in the 5-10 range, decent west wind, not near as bad as it has been though plus it was sunny and clear, so i figured id run outside. hit pretty good splits and felt pretty comfortable: 1- 6:52.5 2- 6:50.5 3- 6:54.3 4- 7:05.7 5- 7:02.8 6- 7:14.5 decent work on the hill today total-- 42:00, 7:00 avg pace, nice even run, actually ran faster into the wind, prolly cuz i wanted to get it done 6x40m strides after
