speedwork on the treadmill tonight, goal was to go 8 or 9 at HM pace, but after five I was pretty spent, had to slow down a little, started at 5:56 the first 2 miles, then slowed it down to at least be able to get in 5, did the 5 miles in 30:05, so 6:01 pace, not too terrible, was just wiped out mentally and physically, I did enough on the cooldown to get the mileage to 11.2 on the day

Good workout. 8 or 9 miles at half marathon pace is a lot. 5 is right about the limit for most peoplre I think. 2-3 mile repeats (3 to 4 repeats) or running by time (10-15 minutes for each interval) works pretty well.
