| Innaugural FORTitude 10k. Was fun to be a part of what will certainly someday become a huge event. Weird blood-red sun this morning with all the smoke haze from the wildfires, created kind of an eerie aura, but at least the temp was reasonable. Did not feel great during my warmup, but was hopeful to be under 37 minutes. Was in group A and had a pretty good race I thought. Course was very favorable, much flatter than BolderBoulder and even a little lower elevation. However, I was confused by my watch splits as they didn't really match up with the official splits. my watch had the course as .7-.8 long, which if true was probably 20-25 seconds - even if it was only half that long though, its still a sufficient enough time gap to have kept me above 37 minutes officially. My watch had 5:55 avg, but my official time was 5:58 avg and 37:07. Either way, my goal was to keep this around that pace and get a good tempo in as this pace is my GHMP because at lower altitude I would be a bout 8-10 seconds faster and so actually faster tempo than my Goal half pace. Here are my official splits:

5- 5:56
6 - 6:07
Total 37:07, 5:58-59 pace
negative split according to the official splits by a few seconds, but according to my watch i was at 18:37 at the 5k marker (which was a course marker), which means I went 18:30 and a 7 second negative split on the 2nd 5k. overall, a very positive race and I got exactly out of it what I wanted - a strong tempo and a fun race. Good cooldown and 11 miles overall

| speedwork today, even though my legs are kinda toast from this mileage this week, wanted to get some turnover on tired legs to practice that feeling, was planning on 8 800s, ended up doing 6 with 2:20-2:40 recovery (jogged 400) then did 2 400s after with 1:20 break each, splits were 2:46 (rusty), 2:43, 2:41, 2:43, 2:42, 2:43, then 80 and 79 for the 4's, cooled down for 2.7 or so, rest day tomorrow, legs need it, 71 miles in the last 7 days

| Nice run today, nice cool fall weather, helped me settle in and felt wonderful, 15.2 in 1:50:xx, 7:16 avg pace, was at 55:40 at the first 7.5, so 7:2X pace, ran a 2 minute negative split the second 7.5 and just ripped off a ton of miles about 10-25 seconds per mile faster from 9-15 with mile 13 and 15 being the fastest of the entire run, + strides

| misty, rainy and cold, usually my favorite type of weather to run in, started to get the aura symptom of a migraine about halfway through though and that utterly destroyed the run, made it back in 7.3 at 7:35 pace, but just happy to get back since I couldn't see and my head was already starting to hurt

| morning run on a foggy start to the day, was pretty cold, but warmed up quite a bit once it burned off, managed 11.1 in 7:27 avg pace, which is a pretty good run for a saturday morning especially after mexican food last night, 260 for the month of sept.
