AM - 11.5 BV/Grass. 6 super slow miles into Buena Vista and then one with the dog. Threw in 5x10sec hill bursts that were more like blahs. Then 3 barefoot on the grass for practice with 8xbarefoot striders. (Connect 553)(Barefoot '13 65.5)

afternoon - 5 Grapevine. Glad I got out. The legs were pretty junky for the first mile and then I actually started to run pretty decent. Maybe tomorrow will be better than today. (Landreth blue 961.65)

Very nice mileage this week Dave.

Some of the high mileage on your shoes blows my mind! I get aches and pains after like 300 miles with most shoes. I wish I could get more miles out of mine.

I am finally starting to feel healthy which is nice. I used to get about 400-500 out of shoes, but over the past 5 years I think I have improved my form and strengthened up a bit so I can get a few more.

Yeah I bet my form plays a role. But my knees start to hurt after like 300-400 miles, and I always feel like I'm wasting shoes retiring them that early. But I'm certain the knee pain I had in April that really set me back and ruined my training a bit was because I was pushing the mileage on all my shoes past what I normally do. So now I force myself to throw them out at the first sign of knee pain.

I hear you on the pain. I would know my shoes were bad when I started getting Achilles pains. This last bit was a combo of a few intense workouts and some way over used shoes. So I actually just chucked 4-5 pairs and need to get rid of about 3 more.

landreth? Mutha... I wish I had a pair of those around still.

I know they were the favs. These ones are holding up pretty good on easy, shorter runs.
