Well... I guess I'm sick. The last few days I have gotten progressively worse. I tried to tell myself that my allergies were just acting up and that I could run through them. But after last nights run and during the night, things just got worse. It is just a head cold, but it has knocked me out. No run this morning and I missed practice trying to get every ounce of sleep I could. Although it will severely mess up my miles for the week, I think I will take tonight off as well and try to rest and get better. It is just tough to "give in" and miss a workout when I hadn't missed one all summer. Oh well, it was an easy day anyway.

Get well soon Dave. This is a good week to reduce your miles anyway.. Get some rest and put in another video!

Hope you get to feeling better. Take a day or two off and get some more rest and you should be fine. I wouldn't stress so much about the miles per week, sometimes you just have to listen to your body.

When I got sick a few weeks ago it was like a blessing. Because I'd never had taken time off by myself but was forced to. In the long run it turned out good. After getting bettrer and resting up I've felt stronger than I had all summer.

So don't let the miles guy control your life. If your sick get some rest and then we will all need to watch out.

Rest! If you need one day then take two. Unless you have been licking handrails at school then sickness is probably a sign that you need to rest.

Getting sick sucks!

From Chris Rogers on Wed, Aug 22, 2007 at 23:38:46

I agree with Mike--rest, rest and rest! You have enough of a base that even two days isn't going to kill you. There are studies out there that show even if you don't run for a week to week and a half that the most you'll lose is 1%--literally nothing in the big scheme of things (and especially this far out from SGM)!
