Great route. It's more pleasant running the whole thing down hill (as opposed to half up-hill on the 10K two weeks ago). The first 3 miles or so had a perfect downhill grade. I pretty much coasted. At that point I decided to go for my best time on the first 10K portion of the race. At about mile 5, I started feeling tired but pushed for a good 10K time of 1:14. (PR) Then my times really dropped off -- from about 12 minute miles to 13 minute miles. Mile 8 and 9 were pretty tough. Mile 10 was faster since I was just thinking about finishing as quick as possible to get it over with. I can't over-state how fun it was and how great I felt for the rest of the day. My first 10 mile run and a good preview of how my 1/2 marathon will be in August. I just need to keep running long races on Saturday to build up my stamina. Plus drop as many lbs. as possible. I'm pretty stiff and sore but not injured (thank goodness)
