Squishy run on Pipeline. Totally soft snow trail which worked me over. Ran from church fork to overlook then down rattlesnake because i was sick of the snow and run up the canyon road to the car in my soaked shoes. Felt wasted but again a beautiful sunny late afternoon.

Big day for the old man out on Antelope island. Went with Brother Oreo, Shane the Mountain Goat and T-Bone. Ran the 16 mile loop with add on out to Elephant Head or Turtle Rock or whatever it was. Beautiful moonscape scene out there. Overall felt good until last 3-4 miles. Felt about 300 pounds about then. Saw Jun and Kelli cruising by on the trail...they appear to be studly runners just like you would guess. Started cursing profusely about mile 15 or so. Potty mouth gives me extra running motivation. The great thing is that I know my body isn't really built for these long miles but I feel cool doing it anyway. Oreo is back...kicking my trash all over the place. Fun day.

Big Titty Loop with an extra 1.5 through the Business District. Havent done this loop in a while but wanted to get some views of the city with all the snow on this beautiful day of sun. Stunning views along Wasatch Blvd by Mt Olympus. Right hip still feels really tight in back, but trying to work it out. Avg 9:06 for the run with a near death experience thrown in as the garbage truck whisked a bit close.

I am calling this a run even though there wasnt much sustained running given all the mud, snow, back tracking etc. I wanted to explore the BST behind Research park area with hopes of running to the Avenues area but given construction blockage etc, just stayed around the area and some in This is the Place State Park. Trails are muddy and wet...need to dry out a bit and it looks like a fun area to run. Then cleaned out the house gutters... that should be some bonus miles right there.

Long night of call fixed with a great outing today. Wanted to get in some trail, but the ones I've been on lately are super wet. So ventured south to run by Dimple Dell. Started at the Orgil/Granite Trailhead and ran up the switches to Bell Canyon Reservoir, ran around the Lake as best as I could in the slushy snow. Then went down the Bell Canyon trailhead to Wasatch Blvd then basically went exploring into the Dimple Dell Regional Park area and ran mostly along some equestrian trail until I hit about one hour into the adventure and went back. Beautiful area 10 minutes from my home that I really didnt know existed. Pace was slow partially because I had no idea where I was headed and butt still hurts a lot but was great to be out.

Neighborhood run. Asphalt lusciousness. You got to get what you can I guess. Liked the Kinvaras today. Felt light. Funny thing, I really tried to push the last 3 and managed a wind aided 7:39 mile but dont know how to go any faster than that for the moment... really need to get some speed workout in my wheelhouse I guess. Also need to somehow fix the busted adductor.

Wanted to get back on some trails, so had my son drop me off at the Burch Hollow trailhead of Pipeline and ran to the overlook, or actually, I was between Rattlesnake and ChurchFork when I needed potty break...so I ran back to Church Fork restroom only to find it Locked... SO back to nature...snow for TP isnt so bad, just a brisk wake up call. Uneventful back to the overlook except for the dead deer right by the trail near Rattlesnake...freaked me out because I almost stepped on it while lost in some tunes. To overlook and back down Rattlesnake and last 4 miles on the road to home. Felt tight by the end, but fun day out.

Will add official time and place when I get them. Today was a fun day and about what I was hoping for. Namely, Enjoy it, run hard enough to really enjoy a scheduled 90 minute post race massage, feel better than last year at the finish, have no serious leg issues (which have been plaguing me lately), enjoy the stew, and beat the snot out of my brother. Accomplished all of the above except brother Oreo ended up kicking my trash with a fine run. I only saw him at the start and with about 3 miles to go, but couldnt catch up, in fact he just kept getting farther into the distance. I guess nature is back in its natural order of things. Also, was able to see older brother in for his first antelope experience. Was hoping to beat last years time, but was 3 minutes slower. The mud this year was part of this, but after reviewing my splits from last and this year I was only faster this year in 3 of the 16 miles and slightly slower in the rest. This I think was due to not always aggressively passing or trying to pass the trains of runners that I was sometimes behind, which is actually great that more people are out doing this, and being generally more conservative with the downhills to avoid the leg issue. Just have to focus and nut up I guess. Also, currently I have a mindset of no injury and slow build to be able to finish Squaw 50 this summer. I love this course and the general environment though...good times, good times. Nice job to all the more powerful and adventurous bloggers on their fine races... feeling a bit wimpy here only doing the 25, but what do you expect from a coffin boy as another brother might say.

Bells canyon trail around the lake and up the upper trail in the snow until I was hungry. Legs fatigued from buffalo... Squaw is now starting to weigh down on me. Listened to old school acoustic Jackson Browne...mellow day.
