Some photographers requested to take pictures of me running, so I obliged. A few minutes, a couple of stretches, and a lot of strides and sprints later I embarked on a 70-odd minute run. I couldn't start the run until 4, so it was super cold and dark for the last few miles. My first 4 miles were at a 6:40 pace, which felt pretty easy, but I want next to no speed for the next month, just base building. On the last mile, which involves an 800m steep hill climb, I was joined by a friendly Husky. Normally a few dogs bark/chase me, but not today. I like to think the dog gave me the "Blessing of Alaska", which causes canines to view me as one of their own.
