Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Its been a rough few night of sleep, so once again I took the perfect opportunity to take my daughter on a run on east river north. We stopped at my work on the way home as she seemed to be getting a little cold. It was about 40 degrees this morning which I think is the bottom limit to what I can take her on a 1 hour run for, so this will most likely be our last run together of the season. She loved the christmas lights. It was one of those really gray days with gray sky and bare trees.

Surpisingly fast 6:51 pace on east river flats on a Medford-esque damp cloudy morning. Super clutch job catching my 8th leaf of the season haha

Como classic, all the way on to the docks at the lake. Don't have my clock but I recall it being a little on the faster side. Heels hurt significantly.

Happy thanksgiving! Last year I was running a race in Virginia. Today my heels hurt a good amount while warming up but got better as the run progressed. Just under 7 minute pace doing all the Winchell trail up to the bridge. Pretty cold and windy but can't complain.

6:46 pace on Boom island. Felt pretty tired. Cold day but sunny so it looked like it was 50 degrees, not 20.

East river road to hidden falls. Nice cloudy morning for a run. 6:04 pace on the way out. 5:54 pace on the way back. Wouldn't have minded going faster on that effort but oh well.
