Short-Term Running Goals: -Find some good local races to run that will motivate me to stay in shape. Long-Term Running Goals: -Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list.
-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.
Personal: I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I live in the Twin Cities with my family and am an Epidemiology PhD Student. Running is the only hobby I have time for :) |

| | 6:47 pace on the way back from Como classic. I left at 6:50, nearly an hour before sunrise. At that point, my hope to make it on the soft surface trail was based entirely on the lights of night. This turned out to be too much to ask, and I pulled off at Coffman. If owls are still hooting and you are scared by movements that are almost for sure just squirrels, you should probably be running somewhere else.

| | For the third time this year, I went on a run after a medical appointment. This was the second time I used being in the Roseville area as an excuse to do an easy run towards Tony Schmidt park, and it worked out great- it was more light than it would have been when I left otherwise, and I was able to get in and out of my appt just in time to run and get back on time for preschool. 6:43 pace on a gray day where we just missed a rain storm. I was able to explore some additional trials that turned out to be Chatham trails park. Saw several bucks today.

| | I again avoided running in the dark, going this afternoon for a couple reasons. It was a really nice sunny day to do farmers fields. I was fast from the get-go and ran it in 6:34 pace (61:30). But my knee hurt a bit and I overall just wasn't feeling good. I think it takes a bit of getting used to to run in the afternoon.

| | Another fast run at 6:40 pace, somewhat foggy day on Diagonal/St A parkway. Maybe I am feeling the lack of workouts or something. I remember once saying that here most of the leaves are gone by the start of Novemeber. Either this year is different or I was wrong, because in my opinion the trees are basically at peak levels of color, even though some have completely shed.

| | Just checked out and ran 16 miles on west river to the waterfall. My favorite part was a place along the Winchell trail where just about every leaf in sight was yellow. That was fun to see. 6:10 pace on the way out, I made a mistake coming back and didn't get my pace overall.
This morning I again did a little work before leaving, so I was able to avoid running in the dark all week long after Monday.
