Short-Term Running Goals:

-Qualify for the 2024 Olympic marathon trials

Long-Term Running Goals:

-Run a few fast marathons. Grandma's, St. George, and Boston are on my target list. An Olympic Trials qualifier would be amazing.

-Break stroller records?

-Stay fit for a very long time. I believe what goes into making a competitive runner at age 60 is much different than age 20, just like what goes into making a good marathoner differs from a good sprinter. I hope that by taking care of my body, I can be very fast for my age as I get older.

Personal:

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I served a mission in Rome, Italy from 2015 to 2017. I eat a whole food, plant-based diet, which I believe helps my running. I like chocolate shakes on sunday nights and I will always call the Pacific northwest home.

Minnesota weather is weird. I will be sweating in 55 degrees, but can be 85 (like today) and not feel too bad. Did a track workout with 1 minute rest on each rep. Good to get some faster stuff in. Still not satisfied with fitness, hopefully I come around soon. Mile (5:09), 3 by 400 (70,69,69), mile (5:02), 3 by 400 (67,68,65), 300 (47), 200 (29).

Good hard workout at the course. Ran a relatively easy 1k segment but it wasn't without its hills and turns. Still I think I like it more than Ks at intramural. 2:15 rest. Very humid. I was soaking in sweat and could feel heat radiating from my neck. 3:01, 3:00, 3:03, 3:02, 3:01, 2:59, 3:00, 2:58. The 3:03 felt pretty chill, but Jack and Khalid wanted to keep pressing. I'm glad they did. I needed this workout.
